I have two complaints:
1:) There is absolutely ZERO campaign or story content at all what so ever for free players. Nothing. All I do is run Dares and fill up my vault each week then delete, rinse, and repeat.
2:) I also really dislike that all the matchmaking activities are super easy. Either solo players need an option to turn off matchmaking for Strikes and Nightfalls or Bungie needs to add matchmaking for higher level difficulties. Dungeons had matchmaking back in Shadowkeep. But I digress. Either let us have the option to turn matchmaking off or add it to those more challenging modes.

Legend difficulty should have matchmaking. There’s no reason for it not to. If it’s that much of a concern of theirs, all they have to do is make a level requirement to use it.

I took a break from Destiny after Shadowkeep. Came back last month for the free DLC Weekend. In that time Bungie removed matchmaking from Dungeons and other high level activities because “The Community wasn’t playing them correctly.” Which is an absolute excuse. Nobody had any trouble figuring out how to do the tiny baby 15 minute Raid Mechanics of Dungeons. If folks didn’t play Legendary activities correctly it was because they were too bored to even be bothered in learning them. So what did Bungie do? Put all Legendary activities behind a paywall, added Lost Festival Champions (which also requires a season pass paywall to access barrier mods), and removed matchmaking. Now the entire game for solo/new/returning players is way way to easy. Strikes are so easy fireteams fly through them like it’s a competition against their own fireteam. Dares is mind numbingly repetitive, Nightfalls aren’t even prestigious and are easier than launch difficulty Strikes.

Exactly!! They should add more of new light story like in destiny 1 then just hey here's the game get loot and wait till you finally give in and get the 100 dollar dlc plus the 40 dollar annual pass. It is astounding how outright predatory this game is to new players, especially with the story and if you can't read the lore books. Not to mention half the armor, weapons, story, and exotics are all locked behind a almost 300 dollar pay wall. Not having them makes things a lot harder. Its honestly sad...

IKR! Silly me I stopped buying “Destiny” when it went Free To Play. I already was playing other FTP games like DC, Warframe, and Star Trek. I figured Destiny would be like them. Nope. Everything I bought while Destiny was a retail title from launch to after Forsaken has been removed from the game. Again silly me for thinking a 100+ gigabyte Free To Play game would have content for free to play beyond normal difficulty Dares of Eternity. It’s called Dares Of Eternity cause it’s the last game mode you’ll play before archaeologists find your petrified corpse with an Xbox controller in your hand centuries from now. One time someone here was like “But New Light is 26 step quest!” Oh you mean the single opening Cayde 6 mission of D1 where you get your ship then the rest of “New Light” is literally killing the constantly spawning Spider Walker and *Do Strikes? 🙄
