Shoulder charge WITH Thundercrash was all that was needed for me and impossible with arc 2.0.
The slide/evade and speed increase are just cherries on the sundae.
Combined with HOIL makes him unstoppable.

What do you think about the weirdo jump height while amplified?

I try to stick with a single jump when boosted. When you double press it can get alittle weird at times. Staying close to the ground when speed boost is active is your best bet imo.
