Elderberry flavored Centipedes Stopping me from playing the game
For the last week or so I've had a very strange issue. The very first time I open Destiny each day, I can get to the character screen, select my class and show up in Orbit. But then when I try to launch a destination like the Tower, it will hang for a moment, and then give me an Elderberry error. After that, I try to restart the game, but then I can't even get past the initial Witch Queen load screen without being hit by a Centipede error, so I can't even get as far as the character select screen anymore. It's the same cycle every day, and I haven't been able to play Destiny normally at all. However, none of this happens at all if I am connected to a VPN before launching the game. I am able to launch, choose a character, and load into destinations perfectly fine, albeit a bit laggy due to the VPN. I have no issues playing any other game, CSGO, Apex, and GTA all load up and play just fine, without the VPN. I've done absolutely everything I can think of to solve this from my end. Using a static IP, Dynamic IP, port forwarding, reinstalling network drivers, restarting the router/modem, even Factory reset my router, and had my ISP resend the signal to my modem. I'm out of ideas at this point, but open to trying just about anything.
Hi there!
Please bear in mind that testing other online games is not a gold standard when it comes to troubleshooting an issue with one. It will rule out if you are online or not, but that is about it.
Destiny 2 has different connection paths and mechanisms that FIFA 2K, Call of Duty or GTA. All games do not have the same methods.
