Please report any concerning messages using the platform's report option on the message received. Please have your friends do the same.
If it was on Bungie.net, you can report the message itself.
If it was off Bungie.net and using a different platform's messaging system, the message will have to be reported however that platform allows. Unfortunately, Bungie cannot really help with messages that weren't using their own systems.

it’s been messages on the bungie website - i reported the profiles for harassment before blocking the user, so i believe my messages with them have gotten erased. i will double check and if they are still there, i will report them. thank you!

Do the following: Say nothing to them Report the messages directly in the message box. Using the report button on the profile doesn't report the message, it only reports the profile (IE: the 'About Me' section). Block the user Move on with life. Don't waste your life checking if a random internet user has been banned because there is no way for you to know. -
This is the plan and has worked up til now - I just have been concerned because the user is starting to send the same messages to other people who aren’t me. Thank you for replying!

Just tell them to report & block. There will always be someone out there sending offensive messages just to make themselves feel better. Once you hit the report button, that's your job done. The mods will take it from there. If your friends aren't blocking them, that's their problem, not yours. Don't worry about that.
