Day 1 completions don't have to be day 1. They could be any day you and other people similar to your situation, are doing it for the first time so you all have the same experience.
Day 1 is just for a trophy, but trophies are silly things. Experiences are more important.

I've had many great experiences, moments and memories with Destiny. I'm after the hardest PVE challenge. I've got the Gilded Conqueror Title every season. I got King's Fall done with Clan Mates 2 days later, it was a blast, and it was done in 2 hours. The trophy for a Day 1 Raid is nice and all but it's the challenge I'm after. Unfortunately it's so time limited.
