Never did a day 1 raid before but yesterday was my first time and my team also struggled at warpriest. I was doing well over 5 mil In 3-4 phases but my team couldn’t keep up. I wouldn’t say it’s an issue with contest mode being challenging, but more so your team is just not equipped to handle it.
If 5-6 people are using good loadouts for damage & ad clear i can imagine contest mode being cake.

For our team damage was never really a problem. Most wipes were caused by people dying and failing challenge mode conditions. I still don't know if I'd call it "cake" though lmao.

Well you are wrong about “cake”. Anyone that says it was easy is lying. However 6 strong players and a determination to stick it out and it’s doable for sure

Some teams weren’t struggling for an hour on a single encounter like majority of the people spending hours.

Almost no one didn’t struggle somewhere. There were less than 340 team Clears. That’s nothing. The only teams that didn’t have a hitch here and there are the people teams. Even top 1 percent teams like mine got stalled out a bit here and there.

I do. And most of what you said is fair. I have a little bit of a peeve with players that complete something then describe it as “so easy”. I consider myself and my team top 1/2 percent raiders. And we had to stop and think, switch loadouts, supers, aeons, special finisher etc in order to get both raids done in just under 9 hours of play time. So even though I am proud of what we did and once we had the mechanics down we were generally able to beat the encounter I wouldn’t describe it as easy. Strikes are easy, gambit - easy. That raid yesterday was difficult and only the best got through it.

9 hours for both contest and challenges is pretty damn impressive. Took our team double that to clear it.

We were happy with what we did. But between us we have thousands of raid clears, low man, solo, flawless, speedruns and as an added bonus I still have the world record for the 4 man flawless kingsfall run in d1.

Agreed. I have a lot of casual friends and no matter their loadout or character they are just not going to be able to compete because they lack the skill. I honestly should have known better but I just wanted to complete the raid. I would of loved to do just the normal version and opt out of contest/day1 mode. At this point my friends had such a bad experience I doubt they will ever touch this raid again.

Always did them day 1 in d1, never in d2 and I must say it’s ona way harder scale. It won’t be bad at all without contest mode. It’s gonna be so much easier
