Great ideas, but this realistically would kill the use of linear fusion rifles over snipers. Lorentz is extremely annoying due to its exotic perk sucking others in and doing damage to them, but statistically it’s not very different from other popular snipers. In pvp, but trials specifically, lorentz is the only linear that sees relatively high useage rates, but it sees about a third to a quarter of the usage compared to even beloved. The changes are great on paper, but in practice it would only make players go to snipers instead. Anything that A linear fusion rifle may have going for it popular snipers do also. Their aim assist, zoom, handling and flinch tend to all be pretty similar, only thing lorentz really has going for it is it’s exotic perk that’s a juiced up version of dragonfly.

  • Thanks for your input! @twrkstallion So out of sheer fear that snipers might be overused, a weapon type should be misused and teamwork killed? That would be much too expensive My suggestion would bring the Linear Fusion Riffles back on track. It would then be up to the developer to make sure that supporters can use them reasonably enough so that they can optimally strengthen the team instead of having to play the engager

  • Your ideas are great, but i personally think that linears are being used as intended. The idea of a more “supportive team player” playstyle is a great idea but just may not play well in game and would make linears see little to no use. There of course are players that want to have a more team oriented playstyle where they play slower, team shoot and do massive chunk damage but they already have bows they use but In particular le monarque. This bow in particular has lower zoom been a linear, more aim assist, and probably would hit just as hard if linears where changed in game. Not to mention the poison dot stops regen for longer and gives soft wallhacks for about 4 seconds. Honestly this game is balanced really well, if linears were a supportive gun, you would have to change other things at the same time to make them worth using over other (sometimes better) long range weapons.

The game only seems flimsy balanced because the developers have misappropriated certain weapon types which is neither elegant nor a satisfying solution in a skill based shooter. It is completely idiotic to make a supportive weapon type one-hit because: long range weapon types are super OP. But they are allowed to be because they require SKILL and a lot of practice ergo there are not many players who can handle them. A supportive weapon on the other hand is more casual friendly and more players can use it. If a supportive weapon type becomes one-hit and therefore OP, this has much more far-reaching consequences for pvp: a smaller group of elite players is less annoying than a large group of casuals running around with op weapons. it is therefore the task of the developer to return the weapon to its natural purpose and then ensure that it remains usable - but not by misuse but by separate perks that, for example: •trigger certain buffs •grant ammunition advantages •affect the enemy radar •and and and
