I’m having the exact same problem as you. My disc won’t install past 12.40GB. I can install trial mode from store but I refuse to pay £50 for collectors edition when I’ve already paid for all the dlc separately. Bungie needs to address this.

Bungie has no control over your hardware's ability or the longevity of the physical disc. There is nothing Bungie can address concerning your issue. You can try buying another D1 disc (they should be extremely cheap if you can find one for sale somewhere). If that disc still cannot be read, then your console is having an issue, or that disc is bad, too.

My disc is immaculate. It’s not my hardware so please try another response! It installed less than a year ago from the same disc. It’s been in its case ever since. Several others are having the exact same issue as I am. Bungie needs to allow us to download D1 vanilla at much much less than the collectors edition, especially when we have already paid for all the DLC that comes with collectors!!

  • If your console cannot read the disc, then either the disc cannot be read, or your console cannot read discs. There are no other options.

Bungie doesn't control the price of Destiny 1 on the platform store. At the time of the Destiny Collection's release, it was the same exact price that Destiny was when it came out. This was the case with every bundled release since Destiny's launch. With each new bundle, the prices were the exact same as the previous release. Due to this, and since the previous content was included in that bundle, the previous option for purchase was removed, since the previous option was the same price but included less. There was no need for the previous options to be available. If the base Destiny download was still available on the marketplace, it'd still be the same price as the Destiny Collection is now, so complaining about the Collection coming with DLC you already own doesn't really affect anything, you just end up with it merging and you still get the Destiny 1 license. If you have issues or concerns over the price, you'll need to contact the platform marketplace concerning your issues and feedback. The only way to gain access to the Destiny 1 digital license on the PS4/Xbox One currently is through purchasing the Destiny Collection on the platform's digital store.

  • Wow you’re dumb af. I already have the D1 licences. I bought the licence to play vanilla D1 when I paid for the original disc. I should not now be forced to pay for all licences again just because Bungie is greedy af. Furthermore, I’ve been to Reddit and many others are complaining that their disc installation is mysteriously stopping at exactly the same % as my installation. Really effing suspicious unless their immaculate discs are somehow invisibly corrupted at exactly the same place you suggest mine is.

  • The disc is your license for the base game, if it is not readable, for any reason, you would need to speak to the platform about your options, they issue the license for their system.
