Hi there! 1. Restart your machine. 2. When you log in, please click on the Windows icon, then type dxdiag. If typed correctly, only one command should appear. Please click it. (If you need to enter the credentials of an administrator of the PC, please do so). 3. Allow the tool to run. A green bar should progress on the bottom portion of the window. If you receive any dialogue boxes as it progresses, please address them accordingly. 4. Once the tool is completed, please click on the "Save All Information" button. Save the resulting text file in an easy to find location, such as your Desktop. Then, close the tool. 5. Open the text file you just created and copy all of text to your clipboard by selecting all of it (Ctrl+A) and copying it (Ctrl +C OR rightclick and click Copy). Then, close the file. 6. Go to pastebin.com 7. In the text box below, paste all of the text in the box. 8. If you would like to make your system specs hidden, you can change the Paste Exposure to Unlisted. This will hide it from the Public section of the site but still allow people to view your Paste. Then, click the Create New Paste button. 9. Copy the resulting URL and reply back to this comment with the URL.

  • Hi there! Reviewing your DxDiag report, your system is a laptop that has both an Intel integrated graphics chipset that is active as well as an nVidia GPU. Please check to ensure that your GPU rendering is only being handled by your nVidia card. You can also review your system's user guide for information on if you can disable the Intel Integrated Graphics directly from the BIOS. Finally, it appears you are running the hotfix verion of nVidia Driver 516.79. There is a newer driver version available, 516.94. You can try upgrading to this driver to see if the issue subsides.

  • Hello again, Unfortunately - no luck with any of the suggestions. I did notice however (perhaps its a normal thing) - that WHEN the game crashes (Destiny 2 btw) - the task manager shows the 3D GPU spike to 100% at the moment of the crash. In any case, any chance you can take another look at my DxDiag report (new one this time). https://pastebin.com/656aWnDs I'm wondering whether the "BEX64" "event' provides any clue? Again, thanks for your time... I have no idea how to nagivate this. it FEELS like i've tried everything. regards.

  • Hello .... wow, thanks for the super fast attention (and guidance). You're right... this laptop has dual graphics... I had it configured to only run Desitny2 with the nVidia GPU, but i'll try to disable the integrated graphics... see what happens. At the same time, i'll update the drivers. Crossing my fingers... i'll let you know. Hopefully i'm not sharing another DxDiag report. :P tks again!

Nvidia driver 516.40 is infamously known to make Destiny 2 freeze and crash; update to latest 516.94

  • I had updated driver. Rolled back to older one in attempt to fix. Also, it works fine with Microsoft version. Only steam version has issues.

  • Your DxDiag report does not show any crashes. It does show hanging of the application, which has happened with the driver version you are on. If you updated your driver, please try again and, if it crashes, please generate a new system report after it happens. Please make sure Destiny 2 is closed before you do so.
