I’ll never understand the logic behind getting mad at people that play strikes/kill things more efficiently than other people.

  • It’s about the experience or what you’re trying to accomplish. People trying to rush through a strike that have to wait for all players to reach a point before it will allow the group to proceed get equally annoyed when players lag behind because they’re killing stuff. Some maybe have never played a given Vanguard ops activity and don’t want to experience it by rushing through it and not taking in the sights a little. Some have bounties/challenges to work on and don’t want to run past every enemy or get pulled forward. Some want to get platinum and want to be sure to kill every champion. And yes some, many even just want to get their 3 Vanguard OP’s done as quickly as possible for the pinnacle, or maybe to just rank up for the weapon/ornament. So nothing but the completion matters to them. The issue is the goals of both do not always mix well. And in most strikes a person running ahead can just pull everyone else forward without their consent. The person running ahead gets all the control and gets what they want.

Yes, but why does anyone care? I could not have cared less if some dude blasted through a strike when I was new. There’s no reason to care. It’s a strike.

  • People get enjoyment from entertainment differently from one another some times. I often prefer to do story content alone first, without my friends. One of them doesn’t ever get into the lore and pretty much hates on the story like he’s a member of the cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000. So if I want to actually hear the dialog, which I do, I have to play without him. Now, that’s great for story, because you can play those missions solo. Can’t do that for strikes. It’s just one those things where the experience for the solo player isn’t perfect. I can’t really blame the random persons in a strike for playing in a way that negatively impacts my experience and hampers my ability to reach my goals. BUT it can annoy me too. Much like the speed runner is only worried about their experience, so too is the person that gets upset with the speed runner. It’s reasonably unreasonable. lol

  • You mean run past everything better than others? That's what they do.
