3.0 subclasses and how warlocks are doing

Warlocks have always had more unique kits with unique abilities and lots of bonuses. Your subclasses have generally always been overturned compared to hunter and titan. I'm not saying they were better or op, but they had way more things crammed in. With the 3.0 I'm going to assume it's pretty hard for bungie to add new things to the Warlock when you already had so -blam!- much. Solar 3.0 felt like a nerf to warlocks because your tree and options were insane compared to hunters and titans before the new system. You had nodes that gave you like 4 different things within 1 of your 4 little diamonds. While Hunters got what? A whole node dedicated to improving aim assist on golden gun... Oh gee whiz! A whole node wasted. Titans had some nodes that felt lackluster as well compared to warlocks. 3.0's rolled around and shared what the classes had In between each other while also gaining some new things. Guess what? Since warlocks had better kits with more bonuses they had more to share! Yes some nodes were deleted because they didn't want people getting bonus super energy or having supers extend their duration as part of the base kit. Now Arc 3.0 is coming around and we haven't seen the full thing. Many fragments haven't been shown and abilities specifics and verbs aren't all their yet. Yet again however the other classes that didn't really have any super unique arc abilities, chain lightning, ionic traces, etc... Didn't have much to share. Titans blinding capabilities are being shared and that's all they really had. That's why in the 3.0s Titan and Hunter gain the most, because they didn't have as much as warlocks did. Honestly you guys used to complain that warlocks are bad and useless and have nothing going for them. Now that your "useless" abilities and bonuses are being shared you're outraged... As if You weren't already ignoring them.

I’m not in the „warlocks got shafted” camp, but if you are a game designer, you are a creator. You can always come with new stuff. Reworking something decent is no harder than fixing something bad - those are not material things we are talking about. What is IMO the real problem is the developers have no VISION of how to make Warlock special. They do have pretty good feel of what it is to be a Titan, they do understand what makes Hunters tick, but they don’t get how Warlocks want to play their class. It does show in the Arc 3.0 announcement, when they talk about the core experience of Titans and Hunters describing plays they can do, and then spend far less space on talking about Warlocks and they do it only with very vague terms. Rather than hearing how new Warlocks will play, we hear “oh you guys like getting buffs”. How is that a vision for a class? It does sound like arc Warlock ability uptime may be something crazy. If all Arc classes regenerate abilities on Arc kills, but warlocks have aspect buffing it, chances are we’ll have nearly permanent accessibilities to buffed abilities. This is already possible in Void and Solar, to a degree. There’s nothing truly special here. I understand the disappointment in lack of vision, even though most posters express it in different terms.
