Because they define the identity of the class differently than you do. ...and this Warlock main thinks that both Void and Solar are vastly better than they were this time last year. What has changed is that Bungie doesn't give you powerful builds out of the box anymore. You have to build them yourself...but the pieces are there if you set yourself to constructing a powerful build. The build I'm currently running is arguably overpowered for PVE play....and I still have room to refine it even more.

  • It’s currently on my Warlock. Sunbracers with an elemental well build that synergizes by creating wells with grenade kills and the wells feed me ability energy. So my ranged melee has nearly 100% uptime, scorch does additional damage, and with every powered melee kill I get up to five of the new augmented Solar grenades. There is still room to refine it further. I just haven’t felt the need. Easy enough to set the whole screen on fire.

    Practically constant sticky grenades using an empowering rift and Witherhoard to make short work of any boss or champion comes to mind.

  • I agree with void but I honestly hate solar for warlocks right now. I feel like I have to attempt some crazy set up just for it not to be the way I liked to dawnblade.

  • Wait until you aren't playing against Nightmares all the time. It feels **very** different...and quite powerful. The Sunbracer build is practically broken its so powerful. I had a group of blueberries bail out on me at the start of the Gateway strike last night...and I **easily** one-manned it until they found a couple of replacements midway through.

  • That's the difference between u and other players. Sunbracers are actual garbage in endgame difficult content. You are forced into fusion nades and starfire if u want to be of any help in endgame content. While titans or hunters have multiple end game builds on void or solar. Void is useless on warlock in endgame. Stasis is fine in endgame, but only in nighfalls.

You say that like its a problem. In a well-designed game, builds have SITUATIONAL power. IOW it is the best in a specific situation....its not the best in EVERY situation. 2. No one is "forcing" you into anything. That fusion nade build is just ONE build option. if you want to run an ability-focused DPS/crowd-control build. You can run Void with Devour and Charged with Light. You can Run Stasis with Osiomancy Gloves If you want to run support you have lots of options. Well of Radiance with Boots of the Assembler. Lunafaction Boots. Phoenix Protocol Or Rain of Fire using fusion/linear fusion rifles. ..and this is just a taste of the options. The only limits imposed here have nothign to do with Solar 3.0...and everything to do with Bungie's philosophy of end-game content design. Where there is such a heavy emphasis put on survivability, support and defense. None of the game's builds are "useless". It all comes down to how you use them. What roles you want to play...and how creative you are in buildcrafting. .

  • If u are playing warlock in End game ur main dps build is ur support build. Starfire well not only provides support but it also gives warlocks there best dps option. So yes u are pretty much locked to it. Low and mid tier content u can run around with literally anything and be fine. I can run through a strike with anything in the game and it will be the same difficulty. The game should be about buildcrafting in high end content so u can optimize for difficulty.

  • I swear it's always hilarious to see people defending warlocks solar 3.0 immediately go to sunbathers like it's a good example lmaoo. Starfire protocol build wont even be as good once the seasonal mods go away too lol.

  • A build is only as good as the person making it…and using it. My build gives my abilities almost 100 uptime. Access to 5 Solar grenades with augmented damage whenever I want them…. …and doesn’t really use any seasonal mods.

  • I don't....and I never really used Pheonix Dive...and I still don't. The issue is being willing to alter your play to fit the options available. Bungie reined in the power of Dawnblade's super....but in return made that subclasses abilities MUCH more powerful.
