I don’t even play warlock very much but I’ll call bs on the reasoning you gave. Bungie gave hunters all kinds of damage buff/ability refunding/super extending crap in solar 3.0.
Somebody else stated it very well in another thread… Bungie basically took everything that was unique about Warlock abilities and parceled it out the effect for everyone to use (maybe not quite as easily but it’s there). There is no coherent framework for the reasoning behind concepts like taken damage buffs away from sunspots because it’s can be ‘oppressive’ in PvP only to turn around in the same breath and give damage buff on demand to Hunters in a new dodge.
I’ll keep putting it like this… it seems like 75% of dev budget both money and time for 3.0 reworks looks like it was spent on Hunters with the new abilities/supers/buffs/etc. You can read it in the kit release notes in just the amount of words used to describe the changes. You can tell where the most time was spent and the most thought was spent to find ways to energize different types of play styles. You can see it in the unique ways they synergize dodge with exotics to get different effects/utility. The creativity put towards class abilities alone is a travesty when comparing the different options available to Hunters compared to Titans and Warlocks.
