Arc Warlock 3.0

On Tuesday next week, I am 98% sure I will be switching mains to a Hunter or Titan. The class balance and identity has gone out the window. Basically all classes are technically space wizards. After what they did to Solar Warlock, there is genuinely no point in being a Warlock. They are much slower and have arguably the worst class ability in the game (PvP). Calling it now, Arc Strider is going to break people. Watch how fast complains rack up.

  • The only things Warlocks really have left is Shadebinder's top-tier freezing capability in endgame content. Aerial gameplay is, for the time being, dead, while healing builds are thoroughly unwieldy, awkward and more unenjoyable than ever. Voidwalker went from largely using Devour and little else to..........largely using Devour and little else. I have no doubts that Stormcaller will still be good, but it's very disappointing to see its best parts being given to everyone else. Ionic Traces and chain lightning are available to all classes; so too are Storm Grenades, which even get buffed into a mini-Super by a Titan aspect. Blink could have been buffed years ago, but it's only being changed because Hunters (the reason it was nerfed in the first place) are getting it back. Chaos Reach is a husk of a Super nowadays and it's still reliant on Geomags to have any value whatsoever, but the only word of change was Stormtrance getting both of its existing abilities at once. Arc Soul being an Aspect is exactly what I expected, but I didn't think they'd do it in a way that also devalues Getaway Artist i.e. Arc Soul can overcharge itself naturally. Everything is riding on how good Lightning Surge is. Currently, it sounds like an Arc version of Sunbreaker's Consecration, which no one uses. Teleporting into the middle of a group of enemies doesn't sound very appealing for endgame content, so it had better be hard-hitting - remember that Consecration has Ignition built into it, for a very large chunk of damage.
