This is really, really good! You've got a kind of classic art style here, which I don't see as often as I think it deserves. Especially the shell on the second thingy. That and the shading reminds me a little of Gustave Doré, a French illustrator famous for his illustrations of the Divine Comedy and the Bible (I highly, highly recommend checking those out by the way). I saw someone think the latter drawing was Baba Yaga, which I think I can see as it has that kind of creepiness that's associated with Mythic creatures. This is really cool stuff. What's the short story it comes with about, if you don't mind my asking?

 • Hey Ring! Good to see you! Yeah, that kinda classic art style is new to me, but it just seemed to fit the tone I was aiming for. Although, I didn’t exactly realize that’s what happened until after all was done, lol. I haven’t seen much of Gustave Doré’s work—I’ll have to look him up! The Divine Comedy was an interesting read, so I’m curious about his interpretations. The short story is about a little construct made of porcelain who desperately wants to find his purpose. However, he first woke up in a dark forest without any sunlight, and there are many trials and creatures he has to brave to discover the truth.

 • Good to see you as well! It's a great artstyle. I think it's probably even better that it came out this way naturally rather than by imitation. Nothing wrong with imitation, but it's even cooler that it just came out this way. It reminds me a little of the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. That sounds like a really cool story! The dark forest reminds me of the Divine Comedy stars, coincidentally. I like stories where the goal is finding purpose or meaning. I feel like that's just about the best thing one can search for. What kind of construct is it? Like a puppet, or more machiney?

 • I agree! And I’m really happy about how the story turned out, because it’s tied so much to bravery and truth. There are so many connections that I didn’t see until after I’d written it. It’s kinda precious to me, haha. The construct is more machiney. :P If you’re interested, I can DM you a copy of the story once it’s done!

 • That's great! That's the sign of great storytelling. There's honestly nothing more rewarding as a writer than to see the stories come to life on their own. I think that's how mythologies and legends sprang up over time. The stories people told weren't entirely their own, in a sense, and people recognized that. I believe that's why almost every mythology and legend share some similar themes, even if they're entirely different. Yes, please! I'd love to see it. The art did its job of drawing me into the story, I'd like to read it someday.
