Worst matchmaking ever. It is even more cancer in Crucible Labs.

  • Aren't they testing the new "loose" sbmm in it?

  • They will be using that in Control starting this next season. At least my understanding from what I read.

  • I am not sure. If so it is bad. It wouldnt be so bad if everybody wasnt spamming abilities and the spawns were not worse than before.

  • No i dont think so , its zone control. And these maps arent build for that. Once the opposing team takes B its a rap from there.

Exactly. It is bad. We need bigger maps for Zone Control so spawns are so random in design. I am happy they tried but you gotta look at the core components first before making a complete decision like that. They should have tested all the maps in order to size to see what fits and what doesnt and then implement the ones that work best with the modes. Crucible is bad because they continue not to address the core components that make the modes and playlists happen overall which are the maps to modes structure. A large map can work in 3v3 but is it necessary. A small map can work in 6v6 but is it a good fit. Maps need to be designed to the modes that work best for them and not some random selection that prevents fun and balance matches.

  • I do like that they are trying some new game modes. However, I do agree, most maps are too small for what game they are used in. I mostly play control, so that’s where my viewpoint is coming from. Most of those are smaller maps. If you are on the lopsided loosing side, it makes it hard to gain anything back. The better team will just run quickly to point to point killing anyone on the other team along the way. I have been on both sides of this.

Exactly what is happening and I agree with you. The reason why Trials and Comp do not have those issues is because all the maps work on them. The only issue with Trials and Comp is the reward and rank structure alongside the lobby balancing. All 12 man PVP activities problems are what you have mentioned ie maps not being large enough to combat spawns for 12 players alongside the lobby balancing and matchmaking system. Loose SBMM may fix the issue short term but the problem needs a long term fix which is making the maps bigger to prevent excessive use of teamshooting, spawn trapping and ability spam generation due to players never separating.
