Elsie’s time travel loop
Anyone else thinking the device is something that’s going to be inside the Traveler’s Shell and hooked up to use it’s power?
The Dark Future, Chapter 9
“Suddenly, Eris stands above me with a twisted grin. "Do you see what the path of the self-righteous yields? You call it protection, but all Ana felt was abandonment. You left a void. Darkness filled it."
"You have bigger problems," I say, looking to the sky.
A piercing noise emanates from the Traveler. Its brilliance begins to swell. Worried and confused, Eris commands all her forces to focus on killing it with Dark energy.”
Elsie doesn’t trigger it but she knew, in advance, that the Traveler was going megaton.
Question: how could time travel be possible but restricted enough that it couldn’t be used by just anyone?
Answer: tie it to the Gods and kill them off.
So this may the first major clue in figuring out the time loop mystery.

1 ReplyIt is and isn't a Time Loop. So it's not within the Same Universe, even though she pops up at a Specific moment in Time. It's like "Source Code". You could say she's linked to the Traveler, but she stated in D1, she wasn't born in Light. So, she has no connection to the Traveler. I believe her mind is linked to other Bodies in other Timelines like that Episode of Rick and Morty where Rick is going from Body to Body. But hers searches for a Specific moment in time, like "Source Code".

3 RepliesGo back to Season of the Risen, there are 3 areas. One was for Light refinement, one was to "bring the throne" and the other was to steal the Light? But from where exactly? The corrupted shards of the Traveler? Which is also apparent location of the Galaxy Pools.

I think it still will tie into Osiris, essentially being the traveler, and the shell is another simulation seed. I think that the rhulk prophecy "witness stop guardian" is stopping us from killing...honestly probably, Osiris. I still think we are in nine, "eye upending futures in it's path" (paraphrase), and this is immaru. Heading into ten, "kill this being dressed as if a God, kill this ancient nameless fraud, kill the one whose death is blessed." I think it's referencing Osiris, because of the dressed as if a God, but as of right now, the "whose death is blessed" currently doesn't seem to fit, I have my ideas as to why it does, but it requires a little something to happen in the next couple of seasons. It could be the witness, we may get a better idea (soonish) as to their origin...other than winnower, darkness stuff. Anyways which leads me to another of the rhulk prophecy thing, "witness stop guardian", and why I think it'll be Osiris, maybe Warmind...but I think it wants to stop us from a path, a fork that doesn't favor the darkness. Commune with traveler, drink light... Witness kill... (Again, have my ideas, but I think I really just want to watch stuff play out these days) I know I'm way off on all of it, anyways.

1 ReplyThis makes a lot of sense….could you see us time traveling at the end of Final Shape? Would be a lame ending buuuut it would kinda make sense since Bungie wants the Darkness to win.
