Well actually he did. Originally SHE was called Aurash, and was female. Her name was was changed to Auryx along with Savathun and Xivu Arath, and Auryx was now male. Then HE changed his name again to Oryx when he gained the power to take. So yes, Oryx can change his name twice, unlike us guardians.
