Oh here we go with the same lie campaign that doomed SBMM the first time: Claims of outrageous ping times being the norm.
Nobody has 6000ping in the year 2022. Even using Starlink - internet literally coming from outer space - wouldn't get you 6000 ping.
Just stop the bullcrap and deal with the fact that PVP is now going to be more fair for more people.

I should check more of my ping numbers. I know my spot on the rural west coast Canada to Miami Florida is at about 100ms, which considering that’s over 3000miles/5000km away is really good. Good in as a lot of other games online use 125ms and lower as a CBMM limit. Also on 1.5 gig up/down fibre connection, using an open nat connection and cat 7 cables. I should ping hubs in Europe next, just to see, since I do match against a decent amount of European players at times now under current MM and it’s mostly good, solid connections. Even some from Asian have been decent. Usually the laggy players I get are from the USA which is always a head scratcher for me. Anyways TL;DR I’m curious on other ping numbers and want to see where problems might arise.

Funny how Canadians are agreeable even when they’re throwing shade.

You are wrong. Current mm should be optimizing for better connections. Even then the connections are poor. After the mm changes are implemented it's going to get worse. Mark my words. It's going to get so much worse.

They can optimize for both to ensure fair competitive play and low latency connections, there's an ample pool of players available to do so. Matchmaking is so noncompetitive right now that latency or not, things can't get any worst. Period. Will the sweats claim it's worst though to get their free farm back? Yeah, they probably will.

Starlink sounds like some kinda alien probe 👽
