Hunter Void feels limiting and restrictive. I'm not having fun.

I really don't enjoy playing Hunter in Void 3.0 It feels like we've lost our options. Yes, what remains is "buffed" I guess, but it's also all we CAN do. There really isn't an ounce of variety for hunter void builds, it's all the same stuff. Not to mention the only viable build can be easily messed up by teammates kill-stealing. Something I usually wouldn't give a damn about because it's PvE and the faster the enemies are dead the better. But now, when a teammate kills my weakened enemy, it's not a good thing anymore. It means my invis chain is broken and I have to get it started all over again. And yes, that doesn't play out as inconveniently as it sounds, but it means that the main play style of the only viable build is something fragile and very easy to interrupt. I shouldn't have to ask my fireteam to work around me instead of with me. Speaking of I feel like the ability to be a team player as void hunter has been all but ruined. There's no point to invis smoking my teammates because it's a very minor help that blinding nades could do better and more consistently. I can't heal them in high level content (melee kills to heal ain't easy in legendary or a -blam!- grandmaster, and it's not even class specific, everyone else can do it too, and better), I don't generate any more orbs than before from my super (maybe even less? I haven't checked) so I'm not feeding supers any better. Yes, haha, Hunters are solo. Yes we all know the lore. That doesn't change the fact that it's still a game and that the entire point of half the void subclass for hunters was to play support for once. Something that feels weaker now than before. If you just wanted to go invis all the time then you'll be happy. If you wanted to do literally anything else, at all... well, too bad. Sucks to suck. I understand that each class is supposed to focus around something. Titans are all about the overshield, Warlocks are all about devour, and Hunters are invis. But I thought the whole point was we'd have options? It's not that I hate going invis. It's that I don't have the choice to do anything else. I thought one of the big things Bungie was talking up about Void 3.0 was all the "potential for buildcrafting" right? I'm not seeing any of it. For this whole season, I'll have only one build to play, one single build. The only things I can do to add my own flavor is the equivalent of adding salt or pepper. Whichever I choose, it's still just the same thing. Invis hunter who also just happens to have a tether. Worst part is? All the best artifact mods for the season are centered around void. So yeah, sure, I can play other stuff, but I'll be screwing myself for doing so. tl;dr: Void 3.0 Hunter doesn't feel like it has any variety at all, and I feel like I have even less ability to be a helpful teammate than before. It's just go invis or go home.

 • To be fair, there isn't supposed to be a large variety in builds for the new Subclass models. They wanted the classes to have one area that they were exceptionally good at, and designed everything around those. For Titans, it's deploying overshields on demand to themselves and the entire team. And being more effective at volatility. For Warlocks, it's devour self-sustain and augmenting weapons or healing with rifts while their void buddy saps enemies. For Hunters, it's the plethora of weaken and suppression we have access to and the ability to go invisible basically on demand to drop aggro and reposition ourselves. Trying to build anything but debuff-invsibility on Void Hunters is the issue - they're not meant to be anything but debuffing 'spectres' on the battlefield anymore. And weaken/suppression helps far more than feeding supers - it's just more subtle. Suppression is ridiculous against the majority of pve enemies, minus bosses and some elites. It stops them from firing at you; makes them wander aimlessly; and the amount of times suppressing Lightbearers and Shriekers has helped me and my friend out have been numerous. Yes, other classes can do the same because of access to suppressing glaives (which are ridiculous; those things are beasts to tear through enemies in melee chains in Gambit or anywhere lol), but not everyone is going to want to run glaives and Hunters can suppress groups with their shadowshot or a nade. And Yes, allies killing your enemies and interrupting your chain sucks but we also can go invisible off any suppression or volatiles that a Titan or Warlock in our group may make. Void 3.0 - and the light classes going forward - are going to be built around an 'identity' for that subclass -class combo, and trying to play against that playstyle is going to be what ruins a lot of people's enjoyment of the changes, I think.
