My Argument for Solo Queue Strikes

I love playing with friends. Unfortunately, I don't really have many friends that play D2, so I spend alot of time alone. I also like playing alone, not being anchored to others, worrying if I'm keeping them up or holding back for them. Sometimes I like to just get on by myself and play by my own agenda, feeling free to do what I want when I want. This is the main reason I'm mainly a solo player, and I feel many could say the same. I propose there are 3 reasons I feel solo strikes should be a thing. Over the last year or two, I've realized that solo players like me lack any sort of sweetspot for PvE difficulty. For a solo player, the game jumps straight from way too easy to incredibly difficult with no in between. Thanks to matchmaking, the lower tiers of endgame are very easy. I've found myself bored out incredibly quickly. 3 competent players is just too much most of the time for them. Raising the difficulty a little to Heroic Nightfalls is still too easy most of the time, but one notch higher makes the game incredibly challenging if solo. You now have to build your loadout to exactly what's needed, which kinda ruins any sort of fun, experimental build you may want to try. Legend lost sectors are exclusion to this, but still heavily limit your creative options. So many players play strikes for their own reasons. Some want to play for the lore, some want to play for exploration, some want to just test things out, some want to just blow through them quick for progression, and then there are some with more obscure reasons. Due to matchmaking, you never know who you're going to be paired with and it's extremely possible your goals may end up tripping each other up, causing an unsavory experience. There are drastically different skill levels in this game. Some players have a difficult time with strikes, while others could practically breeze through them with one hand. Each player has their own momentum they like to play at. However, due to matchmaking, some players with a lighter momentum could get yanked by someone with a bigger momentum, causing tension between both. The slower player is being rushed and the faster player is being bogged down. Two players who both like to go fast can trip each other up, allowing neither of them to build up their proper momentum, also causing an unsavory experience. I feel if we were allowed to solo-queue into strikes, those who want to just go in and get out for bounties or missions or pinnacles could do so. The lesser skilled players who would rather play in a party and have a more enjoyable difficulty would be in a smaller matchmaking pool together. It can give 3 new difficulty options for the solo player within the "too easy to very challenging" range that the game is lacking while also allowing full creative freedom with their build. I once had a glitch happen a few seasons ago where I was going solo in a playlist strike and it was some of the most fun I've had in the game in a while. I want to do that again so bad. I want to play PvE content that is moderately challenging, but easy enough that I can bring whatever I want. I want to go on a power trip. I just want to have fun at my own pace on my own time.
