That's not an entirely fair comparison, as stasis didn't exist until The Europa campaign, so it's closer to a few seasons wait. (As a trace rifle that shoots bullets is just a rifle) Not to mention that Primary fusion rifles had exotics that did kinetic, so it's not unreasonable to hope for one now that shoots ice, or spikes?

Glaives are doing alot better having exotics cover all 3 elements and legendaries that do the same for the energy slot. The first primary fusion came out around 1 and a half years after fusions were moved back to taking special ammo, as for nonexotics, it took almost the same amount of time as the first stasis fusion was deliverance and riptide
