I don't doubt its in the works, honestly. Bungie really did us wrong with glaives though. They made them sound great, and then were like "Yo, by the way, good luck using glaives with any build". They're a fantastic concept, and I understand not wanting to make them too powerful, but you are correct, literally any other weapon is better to use in the energy slot. If our whole end game is to make builds revolve around things like elemental wells, or light wells to become charged with light, then the only option is to use things that consistently give us those wells as much as possible, because let's face it, those are really the only build options. I can equip a primary elemental and just dump wells all over, same with kinetic. I can wipe groups with one fusion bolt, or using perks like incandescent or firefly, so why is it such a big deal with glaives? They still take a good amount of strikes to kill and there's alot of risk involved just like swords. Yeah they can shoot, but its short range. The only glaive with intrinsic suppression is the void one, so that's not an issue either. I'm very confused about their thought process and 'fixes' behind these though.

  • Hmm, what if glaives had a unique finisher when it's equipped, finishers consume a portion of ammo but do different things based on the element. Solar glaives scorch a wide area of surrounding enemies and trigger restoration if on a solar subclass, void creates a void explosion and triggers volatile rounds if on a void subclass, stasis shatters the enemy and freezes nearby enemies for a brief second, setting up for followup attacks, and arc on finisher triggers an arc surge that chains damage to nearby targets and temporarily charges the weapon with energy so that melees arc electricity for a brief period...

Even as someone who doesn't use finishers, that would be pretty cool. Give them some elemental synergy of some sort. I suppose you can get volatile rounds with the void glaive as is, but that idea seems solid to me.
