Ok so I am not gonna pretend like im some PVP expert, to be fair im not even good at it. This just has been bothering me for awhile, shotguns are just very crutch to the point where I feel like if im not using one I am putting myself at a disadvantage. I know some players are going to get mad at me and anyone is free to share their opinions and beliefs, but I believe that shotguns take away creative freedom when it comes to using different weapons. I have been trying to use hand cannons and smgs but the problem with the smg side of things is I just can't compete with shotguns, like rumble for example im in a small room and kill player 1 with my smg then player 2 comes in with a shotgun the moment player 1 is killed I don't have the time or chance to create space to kill player 2 and player 2 gets a free 1 shot or a shotgun melee kill. This happens ALOT to the point where I am thinking about using a shotgun rather than a smg even though I really enjoy the smg. This doesn't only apply for the smg even weapons like glaives.. a cool weapon concept are tossed out for a shotgun because shotguns are just more advantageous at getting free kills, it would be nice if shotguns got a major nerf so we can see some more weapon variety and more focus on skilled gunplay rather than "I missed my primary shots let me switch to my shotgun to get this kill." I know ALOT of players wont agree because shotguns being everywhere is the norm but out of all the PVP based games I have played in the past I have never seen this much shotgun crutch, and if shotguns were powerful on those games other weapons can compete with them very easily so players didn't have to rely on shotguns so much. I dont know it just makes me sad to see all these cool options in destiny like glaives, trace rifles, smgs, sidearms but they are all left behind for shotguns.
