If so why do people play it? Yeah bungee makes A LOT of mistakes in the game, but if bungee didn’t want you to like the game they wouldn’t even bother sinking millions of dollars into creating it.

You only play because your good at the game? Or you like the game? Here’s the thing, bungee can do a whole lot of stupid stuff to the game, but people still like destiny, I hate how you have to spend money on silver. But I like the game. Bungee not wanting people to enjoy the game is not a great explanation to some of the stupid things they do.

For example: Ppl don’t enjoy paying silver but it makes Bungie money. Most ppl don’t love the incessant grind but it pumps up player numbers and hours played so it serves Bungie to use grind and RNG mecanhics. Same for the hammer nerf, ppl love the power fantasy but as it makes content too easy (in bungos opinion) they have curbed ppls enjoyment for what they see as the greater good for their own interests.

Yeah your right but bungee still wants us to enjoy the game, there’s always a priority in things like this, while bungees priority should be our enjoyment of the game, it isn’t. it’s how can they make more money, but just because making more and more money is more important than improving gameplay doesn’t mean improving gameplay isn’t important.

They only care that we enjoy their game enough to keep paying for it. Everything else is secondary to that. I think it’s ultimately a false economy for them, they should put giving the player the best experience first and monetisation second as if you perfect the first one, the second will take care of itself. The only thing that protects Bungie from all the c r a p p y stunts they pull is the fact that in 7 years there has not been a Destiny killer, the division failed, anthem failed I’m sure there were others but it won’t always be the case. One day another company will get it right and people will leave Destiny in droves because they finally have an alternative.

It does mean there is a low ceiling limit they put on gameplay. It’s like with Reckoning. They had to break their own enemy encounter design philosophy to make it hard enough to challenge our power at the time. So they nerfed us. Despite being more the able to design fights to challenge us, they opted for the easier route. They can try to make money off cosmetic sales or by making a phenomenal game. One takes a lot of more work then the other and it’s obvious which route they prefer. That’s probably what the dude is getting at.

Because I'm good at the game. I do not enjoy playing the game, but I do enjoy being good at the game. If there were more games out there that I enjoyed playing with my friends, I would be playing those.

That doesn’t make sense, if you don’t like the game stop playing it, be good at something isn’t always a reason to do it. Also why not keep playing those other games, the more you play the better you get.
