Please, God, no.
Please don't urge Bungie towards bullet sponge bosses.
The fact that some of ya'll spent God knows how long pecking away at Savathun's enormous health bar with primaries makes me ashamed of what gaming has become.
The fact that some of ya'll spent God knows how long pecking away at Savathun's enormous health bar with primaries makes me ashamed of what gaming has become.
"Of what gaming has become". Dude, are you serious? The MMO genre has been like that since years. Destiny 2 even tries more to be a "MMO-RPGFPS" than Destiny 1 did and Bungie even said they want to push it into that direction. If you say "what gaming has become" then I assume you play only Destiny 2 and don't really know how the actual gaming landscape looks like. Besides of that, I personally don't feel any satisfaction when a Boss dies after a few gjallahorn-bullets. I loved it back then in D1 when Valus Ta'aucs Bossfight took 20 minutes with a bad team and roughly 10 minutes with a competent one. In regular strikes, not heroic or anything. When I have to min max my gear and stats, my damage output, my survivability and my own player skill to kill a "bullet sponge" boss in a Semi-MMO RPGFPS in a short amount of time, then I call that depth. When I can kill that boss without much thought, then I can call it only boring.
