Solar 3.0 and the story was the only positive this season (so far)

Solar 3.0 has been fun for all the classes IMO; Infinite melee combos for Hunter and Titan, infinite Grenades for Warlock, and a lot of other cool things, like perks that synergize with a class. The story has been great these two weeks as well, though no spoilers here. So, we got Nightmare Containments, which are the only reliable source of haunted weapons... Meaning you get one every 10 - 15 minutes, with a slight chance it's a deepsight weapon. Every so often, you'll get a bound presence, which will give you another... If you go and do severance again, and sit through all the dialogue for the second, the third, the fourth time. The Opulent weapons are exactly the same, though their farming method is more run around and grab chests than an actual objective. I was lucky and got a lot of mini-tools in my first week, allowing me to craft it and now all the opulent weapons with over 50 hours of grinding, which I've enjoyed. But my friend, whose only played about 14 hours, has found one deepsight mini tool, and zero with incandescence, the only reason he wants to get it. But then, Friday comes around, and we get Duality. Not a bad dungeon on its own, with a fun and interesting mechanic, and no enrage! Thank goodness. but the bugs... Teleporting enemies... So many ads that people really only clear it by doing glitches or abusing the new subclasses and their imbalance (Invincible titan comes to mind). Then, on top of that, the main reason you wipe? Because Immolator and other knockback effects are inconsistent, and enemies teleport constantly, resulting in you missing an ability or important shot. Playing Solo, I've been using Lorely Splender Titan, and the only reason I die is the architects... Losing 15 minutes of progress because of problems with the engine is frustrating. And of course, Duality has a ton of Immolators in the form of Bellkeepers, so you're constantly pushed, stub your toe, and instantly die. It feels like my time is being disrespected when I try to play solo. Speaking of which, why would you play solo? Because it boosts your chances of getting Heart Shadow, which is a random drop... And it's required for the seal, as is playing it solo. ??? Why? Tie it to a challenging quest, make it interesting, not "Oh darn, my 34th run didn't get it. Maybe next time". Here's a cool idea: Harvesting Calus' nightmares to craft the weapon. Basically, doing nightmare containment inside certain sections of the dungeons (I.E. Boss rooms after you've killed the boss, and hidden areas throughout the dungeon) and doing it in and out of the nightmare. The Stolen Memory lore could have been revealed by it, and it would make for an interesting way to earn the Heart Shadow that might be really challenging, but in a way that it's rewarding to do. It wouldn't have taken much more effort, just adding a nightmare harvester point in the boss room after the actual fight, and copy-pasting the enemies from nightmare containment (The cabal boss has a bunch of nightmare-themed enemies, so they exist). But no, it's just a random chance you get it, and if you don't, that sucks. Good luck next week. Then, here comes week two. Oh boy, it's Iron Banner! and there's a new game mode! Cool! It's completely broken. The rift will just disappear sometimes. The gamemode isn't really fun and suffers from 90% of games being a total stomp of one team. The rank-up system is the only change I'd say is nice, the rest is just pain, as others have said. One map has a problem where you can use Wordline to instantly score on the other team from the middle of the map. I get that you wanted to update Iron Banner, because control has been the standard, but why didn't you just focus on crucible? It in general needs help, and all it got was a mediocre map in the past few seasons, though I do like the throne world theme. Gambit was renewed, so why don't we get something for crucible? Not just a playlist that happens once every five weeks, but some actual changes, or at least new maps, and maybe a rotation of maps. Overall, this season has been nothing but a grind fest, and the only reason it's not completely insufferable is the new Solar subclasses.
