I'm having similar issues and I've tried the exact same methods, still no luck on my end. When I spawn to where Eris is and make my way to where you start the quest, my ghost won't say anything and the marker won't show but when I spawn in Sorrows Harbor and make my way to the quest flag. Upon loading in the quest marker shows but when I get to the ritual area I'm stuck with the objective "investigate the strange hive behavior" and I still can't progress I just end up getting connection issues and get spawned at the starting point.
