What’s the controversy? Did I miss something somebody please explain, I’m a Witch Queen digital deluxe owner, what am I missing? Anybody

People are upset they don’t get cosmetic NON gameplay altering items for free and instead have to pay 10$ if they want them.

Edited by Tecnikle: 5/22/2022 9:19:37 AMConsidering some people dropped $100 on dlc for the game I think its pretty reasonable to be a little pissed off that bungie just decided “ah despite being told youll get everything for this year of destiny we actually want you to spend 10 more dollars for every event we release.” Kinda scummy if you ask me, its practically like mobile game monetization at this point. Thats just my take on it, if you only bought standard then idrc cause you knew you werent getting “all of the content released in this next year of destiny” but when the big selling point of the deluxe edition is “get everything” its kind of annoying that they just said “actually we want 10 more dollars per season too”

Because of the precedent it sets and it just being extremely predacious, since we all know theyre gonna lock all the good cosmetics like all white and all black shaders behind the paywall

There is no precedent. It’s optional. You don’t complain in the checkout isle because of the way they advertise the candy and “deal” items. This is no different. As long as it’s not P2W it shouldn’t be a big deal.

Ok well in a year when they add battle passes for every activity in the game I hope that you keep the same mind set that “well its just optional so you shouldnt be bothered” :) keep supporting overly predacious business design that does nothing but hurt the game so bungie can turn a quick buck.

Some of the skins are p2w though. Many of the exotic skins sold for bright dust have better models for the optics which can make then easier to use. There are even some that increase stats for weapons (chaperone is one of these). The chaperone thing is apparently a glitch and I don't know if it's still in the game but the point still stands.

Different sights isn’t P2W. It’s a slight FOV advantage, but that doesn’t automatically make the user better then everyone. V-Wing and Corrective do get more manageable sights. But it’s not like there unusable with the ornament. The range increase is now negligible as the range is being toned down, so that .5m isn’t noticeable in practice, and P-Lance already hits max dmg on any map, so it’s barrel length doesn’t matter.

So the advantage these paid cosmetics give is not enough of an advantage for you to classify them as an advantage. SURE, BUD

And even then you should know firsthand that since turning a profit is your #1 goal then you would do anything in your power to reach that goal even if it means screwing over a couple people.
