That's a door that swings both ways. Because the only way to keep players from intentionally dying from jumping off the map, you have to not allow them to die accidentally from FALLING off the map. Careful what you wish for. But jumping off the map is often a smart play because it denies your opponent the rewards of the kill given how many snowball mechanics are built into this game's PVP. I see it as no different than watching an offensive football player run out of bound rather than allowing themselves to be tackled. Because it stops the clock and gives their team additional plays. Just smart strategy.

  •
Just smart strategy.
Not smart, rather cheap 🤷🏽‍♀️ Interesting view, but it shifts the debate away from symbolism to tactical advantage. I think it becomes too explosive humaninistically when you weigh different interests against each other. Nevertheless, I would also like to object to your football analogy: Gaining an unfair time advantage by leaving the field of play is not an honourable and sporting solution but an inglorious and unsporting behaviour. The player should become faster and more agile, then he would be able to let the tackle run into the void, which, by the way, also benefits the spectator who has paid for a sporting event

Smart. If I’m cornered, and by jumping off the map I can deny you resources that make it easier to win future fights? Yep, I’ll jump off. It’s called, “Playing to Win.” So no, I’m not going to shame someone for leveraging the ability to lessen the impact of all these snowball mechanics. And running out of bounds to end the play is within the rules and is not only good strategy it’s consider poor play NOT to do it when trying come from behind late in the game. You will be criticized for NOT doing it. Just as you’ll be criticized for doing it if you’re trying to protect a lead. TLDR: Play the game and stop worrying about what your opponent is doing. That energy your using trying to control them would be better spent improving your own game.
