People trip me out with the but you dont have to buy it bs. You kids got no f'ing idea what anything is anymore and have allowed corporate pigs to slowly creep into your pockets...a few bucks here and few there and bam now its just normal. You feel you should buy a car but then pay later to get the tire or the seat? How about full price on a pc only to open it and find just a bare motherboard??? Oh but its just memory that no biggie.... you people have failed 100%. You sat back and allowed scope creep to the point you pay for the game just to get an empty box. IDIOTS!!!!!! Why you cannot see the true issue here?? Paying for a game to only have to pay more and more and more...its a -blam!- pyramid scheme. Where does it stop? Next will be must pay by the strike or pvp match but again it will be "normal". Bunjie are pros at cultivating a mass of sheep with expectations so low you would accept a black screen and still defend them. SHEEP!!!!

Me? I’m good, gaming is a hobby/pass-time Problem is when companies start involving psychological measures and employ behavioural scientists to develop/create hooks, addictions & methods for operant conditioning yeah Bungie and the former employment of https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnhopson Bungie: Head of Research Aug 2010 - Apr 2016 5 years 9 months John Hopson (Head of User Research) holds a Ph.D. in Behavioral and Brain Sciences from Duke University and is currently the chairman of the IGDA Games User Research SIG.
Before he was hired by Bungie in 2002, John wrote an article explaining formulas to get gamers addicted to games, which many were based on lab mice experiments. Once you read the article you can see tons of these examples for each of his formulas to get people hooked on a game.
https://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/131494/behavioral_game_design.php just enough to make you care but not enough to make you bored. It's really quite genius and they (Bungie) over the last 7-8 years with Destiny have done it damn near perfectly. (Ever more so with D2) Folk seem to be getting tired of the Skinner box/weekly pinnacle/power chase….ultimately leads to nowhere We might as well be set back to zero light/power level

You don’t have to buy it, nor do you have to play it. Really it will in no way affect you if you do not buy it or acknowledge it.

💯 % agree with you and that’s why I did not pre-order witchqueen (technically did as I paid for it the day before it came out). However, I only got the base expansion with the initial season. Only a fool pays up for an entire year’s content without knowing what’s coming down the pipe. The problem is that there are many fools nowaddays who think this is a normal way to operate. I remember the old days when games shipped as complete products rather than minimal viable products.

  • Mam what? Old days you bought the game and the updates just rilled out as needed. Only other tine to pay was expansions like battlefield 2 and the different euro trash expacs but didnt have to buy em and most didnt. Was oh hey you wanna fly in the J11??? Ah bruh sorry my dude but thats another 9.99. Back then that game would of been investigated by Feds or state governments.

  • -blam!- I’m only 27 but games for systems like the PS2 I believe was the last era where they didn’t need updates and most cosmetics were not only awesome but almost entirely done with in game achievements.

  • I was just thinking this. Other than the ROM difference they were basically SSDs. I know they're extremely different but same concept. Every game came out thoroughly tested. Wouldn't that be nice for a change in today's gaming?

Those games were complete And bug tested! But then during the 1980’s/90’s those were £60+ a throw in the UK (& that certainly weren’t cheap!)

  • Lol i know right...1st was the atari 2600 and it came with like 5 or 10 games 😀. Even so this selling chunks of games is a 2010s garbage creation
