Hey there. The only change that was made to the Wish-Ender quest was that the '???' mission that took place on the Tangled Shore, has now been removed. That quest gave you the tokens, which have now been granted automatically.
The tokens are called 'worthless' not in the sense of deprecation, it just means you need to do something to make them useful, ie, defeat hidden bosses in the Shattered Throne dungeon.
I do agree that these should be able to be abandoned and picked back up from the quest kiosk, maybe there was some technical issue due to there being three of them. But basically the quest is still active, those tokens are still part of it, and currently the only way to get rid of them is to finish the quest and trade them in for the bow.

Yeah i remember the worthless bit of the quest. I assumed the quest being vaulted meant the tokens would be removed (as the article suggests) and you wouldn’t be able to convert them to waking tokens for the statue.

Either way, the quest has not been vaulted and those tokens are still the only way to obtain Wish-Ender.
