I personally like that they are exotics, it truly makes them unique considering tex weapons mostly have the best stats and ttk with no real insane exotic perk to them. Chaperone is the farthest reach slug in the game, thats all it has going for it. Dead mans tale is easily the best scout in the game due to its archetype and forgiveness, last word is the fastest ttk hand cannon in the game etc. these exotics don’t do anything special apart from being extra lethal. Making legendary versions will destroy their value as exotics. I always hated how legendaries can be stronger than exotics in this game, it never made sense to me why thats even a thing.
