Hive exposure to light causes tumors to grow on their skin which contain the moth. It is a “biological” response to light exposure. I’m pretty sure the one Lucent Tales lore book explains it better.

I’ll have to check that out. We’ve seen moths before around Light manifestations, this seems like a change
