Hi there. Account security is a player's responsibility. Bungie does not have control over accounts to be able to give it back to you. We recommend you follow the steps mentioned in the Account Security Guide to help secure your accounts. For any help regaining access to your account, you will need to contact your platform support. • I need help removing the restriction so that I can deactivate cross-save to unlink my PSN. I can access the thief's account to do so, but the restriction does not let me (which is most likely due to their theft). If that is not possible, please let me know. The issue is directly related to Bungie.net and not Playstation as the PSN account can be accessed, just not unlinked from the thief's account.

Unfortunately Bungie cannot help with account security issues. Only Playstation can help you with your PS account, not Bungie. To protect player privacy and data, you must be able to log into all linked accounts to prove ownership of them prior to modifying your Cross Save status. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact the platform’s support for that account to get assistance with account recovery options. For more details on how to help protect your Bungie.net and Destiny accounts in the future, please see our Account Security Guide.

Unknown Linked Accounts Bungie will not remove unauthorized Cross Save links from Bungie.net profiles. • If I contact Playstation, they can unlink my PSN from the thief's Bungie account?

  • A Bungie profile shows what platform accounts a player manually links to it. If someone linked their Steam account to your Bungie profile where your PS account was linked, then the only way to unlink it is (1) deactivate Cross Save by authenticating the login credentials of both linked accounts, then (2) unlink either account from your profile settings by authenticating it's login credentials. If the Steam account is not yours, then the only way they could have linked it to your profile is if they had access to the login credentials of your PS account. I would highly recommend you follow the account security guide to protect it from further access. As for the Steam account, you cannot authenticate it if it's not yours. As mentioned, under no circumstances will Bungie forcefully deactivate Cross Save or unlink an account. If you cannot authenticate the Steam account, Cross Save cannot be deactivated and your PS account cannot be unlinked.

I can login to both Bungie accounts and get all the way to deactivating the cross-save to unlink my PSN from the thief's Bungie account myself. The issue is the restriction. I can do it myself, but the restriction on the thief's account stops me, which was due to the thief linking my PSN unauthorized. I am unsure how they received my PSN credentials in the first place, but Bungie.net is the ONLY place it has occurred as well. I do not have the information to log into the thief's Bungie account w/o my PSN though, as it is how I accessed the thief's account to find out who it was. So that may be an issue. I can hopefully deactivate and unlink myself if the restriction is removed (I have already sent an appeal for it a few mins before this comment; thanks to my friend for searching deep for the link).

  • If you cannot authenticate to an account, you cannot make changes to Cross-Save, nor can you unlink the account. Bungie will not unlink an account if you cannot authenticate to it, and Bungie will not disable Cross-Save if you cannot authenticate to it. The form to submit Cross-Save requests was removed and is no longer a valid submission for requests if you found a link to such a form. You'll need to work with the platform to gain access to the account. If the platform cannot assist you and you cannot authenticate to the account, then your Cross-Save set-up will be stuck as it is.

The link was for appealing a restriction on an account, which in turn should allow me to deactivate cross-save. The form I filled out was not asking to deactivate or unlink for me, but rather to lift the restriction to do it myself since Bungie won't do it for me. I reached out to a few community managers, including DirtyEffinHippy, and she said the form I filled out will suffice as long as the restriction is appealed. She expressed sympathy saying she experienced a similar issue. It can be resolved; it's a matter of if Bungie will resolve it or not. All these responses saying it is not possible when I am not at fault (suspicious that Bungie.net is the ONLY place my PSN was leaked ever in over a decade of having it) and, with the account being linked, presents a security issue for as long as the account is improperly linked, is absurd. I know there are policies, but what I am asking is not against policy. I just require the restriction be lifted, and if a community manager said it was fixed for her before, then it can be fixed for the community as well when the problem arises. Due to the security issue of the account being linked improperly, if I must, I will delete my Bungie.net account somehow. I will only do so if it cannot be fixed, of course
