All of your items in collections/vault are tied to your original account (the one that you cross saved from). If you deactivate cross save, you will "lose" these items on every account but the original.

So if I disable cross save I'll essentially lose everything on the account I want to switch to? I want to switch my active account because I pretty much can't claim any of the bungie rewards or redeem any codes for emblems or anything because I dont have access to my PS4 anymore

Activating cross save temporarily "overwrites" other platform characters until it's removed again. Disabling cross save means that the previously dormant characters from the NON-original account will become active again. This set of characters will not have any access to the items from the original character set.
