Why would Bungie support an EOL OS? Microsoft doesn't even support Windows 7 anymore. You should look to upgrade instead of complaining.
As of January 14, 2020, your computer running Windows 7 will still function but Microsoft will no longer provide the following:
Technical support for any issues
Software updates
Security updates or fixes

Edited by Dokutah, Disciple of Amiya: 3/10/2022 10:48:04 PMMaybe because Destiny 2 is a 2017 game running in an old engine, and the game was developed with Win7 in mind, way before the OS stopped being supported by Microsoft? Its not like we're asking the game to run on windows XP here, it always worked on windows 7 until bungie decided that they won't care about checking if it works there while still selling their stuff and DLC on steam with a very clear "It works on windows 7" written on the minimium requirements.

Edited by Terr: 3/11/2022 9:42:09 AMExactly. Also, to add some stats: 1. When D2 was released, refusing to support Windows 7 would have blocked Bungie from selling to a whopping ~37% of the PC customer base. 2. Some people don't realize that Windows 7 didn't hit EOL with Microsoft until well after Bungie had also sold Win7 customers Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken, and Shadowkeep. 3. At that point it was still at 33.5% of the Steam PC market. TLDR: This was always a Windows 7 game, Bungie are the ones who started to cut corners and ignore players.

Because they said they do.

As has been repeatedly stated, perhaps you just didn't bother to read it,Bungle state very clearly that win7 is a supported operating system end of discussion.
