1 week since Windows 7 UI broke, can we get an update?

Some posts about this problem lost traction and i don't want this topic to die, according to hotfix 4.0.0.2 patch notes, it did not fix the black screen (and by extension the broken UI/HUD) on windows 7, can we get an update if the exact cause of the problem was found or even a rought ETA for a fix? I paid for the DLC and the fact that i'm still here posting instead of playing it is a problem, that goes for everyone with the same problem, is this going to turn out like season 15 all over again? https://youtu.be/LlqDeeQjd78 Reminder for those who are not aware of the problem.

    I created a new thread to keep the cause alive, because this one is now over a week old so it stops appearing in the default view of the forums.   • Can anyone in here tell me if the Fonts folder in the Destiny 2 Steam folder is supposed to have anything in it? Mine is empty and I am just wondering what the point of it is if there is nothing supposed to be in it.

  • It seems they really hate Win 7 users. They released that anti cheat thing and Win 7 users couldn't launch the game for at least 3 weeks, and now they do something so Win 7 users cant even see menus or anything else. If they are going to remove Win 7 compatibility then change the Specs on Steam, and refund everyone who does NOT want to change their OS and who paid for the game and its DLC but can no longer use it because they keep breaking it...

      I'm starting to suspect that the only reason the Season 15 Battleye problem got fixed so "quickly" is because the guy who created the unsanctioned workaround/fix for it, had to essentially identify the problem they were bypassing, and thus doing half the work for Bungie.

    • coming up on 2 weeks with ZERO information shared aside from the company tag line "we are investigating"... just figured id help out a bump this post. this is getting quite pathetic on their part. did they not learn with S15 that their quality testing should also including actually attempting to launch the game on all supported operating systems. a 30sec "test" could have found this issue well before the public found it upon launch. their narrow "testing" methods are the major issue here. i know people will cry about win7 just upgrade blah blah. but at the heart of it all there is an utter lack of actual testing to ensure quality and stability upon launch of a new expansion or season. their testing methods consist of file scanning to ensure file integrity and find corrupted or broken files. nothing about their quality testing includes attempting to launch the game with new files on multiple systems each with a supported operating system or console generation to ensure the game actually, uhmm idk, runs... and doesnt have a black title screen and menus replaced by tiny flickering text boxes flashing code jargen making the game unplayable in any aspect. it seems like such a simple thing, physically testing the game, but alas it seem like its either too difficult of a concept or they just straight up dont care anymore and this is a sly underhanded way to force people to upgrade against their will just so bungie can drop win7 from support... at the end of the day its a simple thing that could have been done and taken less then 5min of their time, but neglect and not learning from past mistakes have yet again come to slap us in the face. and to top it all off they have the stones to be silent and not communicate information and progress to paying customers in nearly 2 weeks now. come on bungie, yeah im talking to you guys not the forum mods who have nothing to do with bungie, please respond, please apprise us of the situation, please fix these problems before your product goes to market.

    • There's a way to still kinda play the game you will have to make a friend give you a steam invite to play the game and he can launch missions etc for you for managing inventory you can use an app like the destiny item manager this is a temp solution

    • My D2 craving gotten so bad that I dreamed that the game was fixed. Except UI had a really weird color change but was crispy clear on top of that.

    • no one wants to solve the problem. it's a business. we all paid money. and we are all waiting for the solution of the problem with the black screen

    • yes please. any kind of info on the status of this would be great. i hate just hanging out here in limbo. i understand these things take time. esp with big team and such but please if you would give some updated info. was really hoping i could play for real today. but just sad blackness still

        • yeah, some info on it would be quite nice. We all understand that fixing troubles like that ain't a easy job , but this is just ridiculous. a lot of people there bought WQ and now are waiting for any hint to being able to even play it. I missed something in eververse on week 1 of s15, don't want that to happen yet again. Hope we get anything soon, atleast a "We have no effing idea what causes this" , or smth.

          • They will just trot out the we are 'investigating' line and if last season was anything to go by be a couple more weeks yet if anything happens at all.
