I have the same issue. It's repeatable and I have done this 4 times now. it's not clear what to do with the core either. Other than that it's gonna explode, there's no info.. so I supposed you are to throw the energy core at the door or the console, since it had a grenade crosshair, too. both do nothing in the end, but the door gets you pulled back to orbit. the console seems to spawn another core and enables a do-over .. which i then threw at the door since the console didn't work, and got pulled to orbit again. ^^

same for me, i have been trying to get back this quest for almost 5 hours now

The guides on the net say to blow the doors open for the codes that do not work, so we're on the right track but it's clearly broken. better do something else till this is fixed.
