After lots of experimenting I've determined that bungie intended warlocks to be more of a snap freeze followed by melee to shatter/kill enemies. Hence the snap freeze melee, frost bolts, bleck watchers, and the new stasis exotic for WQ. Of course that being said, bungie did confirm one last set of aspects and fragments that will release once all light classes are updated. So my bet is there will be a shatter aspect for warlocks in the future.

I think titans are the crystal generators and hunters have the domination over AOE slow/freeze. So to me it kinda begs the question where warlock's sit in this dynamic? Which explains why they gave warlocks the stasis turret. So to me, stasis warlocks are only useful as a turret, the rest warlock abilities? Trash.... Ngl, the turrets are pretty clutch but only in PvE. IMO I think a good balance that is a less complex change would be to have the stasis warlock's aspect, affecting the rift, pop crystals instead of freezing enemies. Frozen PvE enemies are easy to melee but its limited by the warlock range (unless you have ophidian gloves) but crystals.... As a warlock, your only option is to shoot, and especially in pvp, you are SOL since time to pop a crystal is terrible. ... Yeah, I've been thinking about this for awhile lol

  • The warlock’s role is to be the disruptor. Throw in a coldsnap grenade to force the enemies to move out of cover and push. The same with bleak watcher. If the enemy tries to push you have defensive options like freezing empowering rift and the melee. You need to be quick, but you do have time to finish a frozen target.

The hunters have multiple ways to show and their shurikens tracking gives them a longer, wider range. Titans close in distance and their supers have huge aoe coverage. Seems to me they are really pushing for a cold snap focus on warlocks but cold snap has always been more of a one at a time type deal. Also, although cold snap is really fast, so is the time to escape the freeze, not really a viable PvP option and has a short window for damage in PvE. The time it takes for you to catch up to a cold snap frozen target, the freeze has been undone. Yea warlocks got the turret, but it's breakable and slow.
