And here people are complaining about the content vault…not realizing that the content that they vaulted and plan on vaulting increases load times.

  • The content vault helping is just something they say to mask the fact they have ancient servers. If they had stayed current, yknow when they had oodles of money under activision and not been using halo 3 -blam!- still they wouldn’t need the content vault. The problem isn’t too much space being taken up. At its root it’s bungie trying to penny pinch and all of us suffering for it

Content vault makes load faster because there is less content and less coding mess in the game

  •
And here people are complaining about the content vault…not realizing that the content increases load times.
It’s def not just because of content. There are games out there with more content that have no problems loading. This would be a software/coding issue. So while they may be telling the truth about that they still only have themselves to blame for coding it in a way that’s not suitable for this type of game.

  • Bungie's horrid coding skills, bad optimizations and horrid engine choice are not good excuses to remove PAID for content.

  • You didn’t pay for the content, you paid for the right to play that content. It’s in the terms of service: Bungie has the right to change/remove content as they please. You agreed to the terms, therefore you agreed to let them change/remove content.

  • The terms that they change constantly and withhold your already paid for content from you until you agree to the new ones .... All illegal.

  • Not illegal, it’s their right. And guess what? If they change the terms, they make you re-agree to them.

Just gonna put this out there for you to see (Btw, this is straight from Bungie's terms of service):
While the Bungie Services may allow you to “earn”, "buy", or "purchase" Service Provided Content within or in connection with gameplay, you do not in fact own or have any property interest in the Service Provided Content. Unless otherwise specified in writing, any Service Provided Content that you receive is licensed to you as set forth herein, and you shall have no ownership right thereto.
Oh, and this was put in the terms on march 15, 2019… way before content vaulting was revealed. What this means is that they didn’t change the services after they announced vaulting. Therefore, it isn’t illegal.

  • Optimization. Taking away content shouldn't be the answer everytime the game gets "too big" and slowing down

  • Should I do it? I don’t know if I should do it. I’m gonna do it
ssd
The reason Luke Smith gave the steamers (at a meeting) about the need for DCV Is that the coding is so patchwork, stitched, complex & muddled that it causes multiple issues, any time they try to change things
according to Aztecross, it’s more complicated than that. He talks about an eight hour meeting with content creators that Luke Smith had last fall talking about both the content vault and a potential Destiny 3, and while this sounds like something he may not technically be able to talk about (better check that NDA), the info’s out there now. Luke Smith explained to the group the idea that Destiny was full of so many bugs and so hard to develop for because it essentially needed to be rebuilt. And that the purpose of the content vault isn’t just about saving hard drive space, it’s that these planets and activities are being rotated out of the game in order to be “rebuilt” in a way that suggests a new process or new engine, in order to be returned to the game later in a “better” form. One question Smith posed to the group was “well why do you actually want a Destiny 3?” and the group listed off a bunch of things like more RPG aspects and new, larger areas, and he said all that stuff would be possible if they just “refreshed” Destiny 2 in this planned way with content vault in and out rotation. And that’s why we have at least three more years of Destiny 2 ahead of us with three expansions already listed. • Umm, you always see people complaining about red war being gone or stuff like that. But if you compare the loading times before beyond light to now, you’ll see quite the difference.

  • Yea before Beyond Light when the game had more content the game was more stable and faster load times. Weird ...

Yea, all Youtubers said the game is running smoother on high end PCs after beyond light AKA when content vault showed up, weird right? How about researching what is common knowledge before embarasing yourself?

  • Hate to break it to you, but before beyond light has -blam!- load times. You’re just to stuck up on the “wah! Bungie removed my content!!” to admit it. Yes, I already know what you are going to say: “I paid for that content!!” No, you didn’t. You payed for the license to play that content. Bungie has the right to change/remove content as they please and you have them that right when you agreed to the terms and services.
Be honest. When was the last time that you played the red war campaign (before it was removed)? Osiris? Warmind? Yes, I’m sad that some of the old locations are gone, but they served no purpose.
Loading times got worse with the 30th update Guess the engine could not handle all the reskinned, reissued, and recycled content introduced with it Put the blame where it belongs as it is not my internet, console, or the vast amounts of “content” in this game I would bet stuff goes into the “content vault” for repurposing so it can be resold again in their next expansion
