Tell the people you play with not to open the chest until you get there, and then it won't despawn.

the chest can despawn whether you open it or not. ran ascendant for the time trial and didnt loot thinking i had time coz i decided to go hunt all the bones and eggs after completing the run and it despawned on me. only fix is to run it again
