I liked the idea of Pokémon Go!, but it drained my phone battery too much. Well, that and you couldn’t have proper battles for some reason, but I heard they fixed that.
If it had a dedicated device instead of being a phone app, I probably would’ve gotten super into it.

Did you ever have that little pokeball device that came with Heartgold/Soulsilver? I think you could like port your pokemon from the game to the pokeball device, then level them up by walking around with the device, which counted your steps. I thought that was the coolest thing back in the day.

Alas, I never had a portable gaming device until I was an adult, so I missed out on most of the classic Pokémon games. I did have a Gamecube, though, and on the Gamecube you could port over Pokémon from the Gameboy Advance to Colosseum, and XD. I thought that was mind blowing as a li'l Aifos! Same with whatever Four Swords Adventures, and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles with the Gameboy. Honestly, just the idea of hooking up a Gameboy to the Gamecube was so amazing to me! Of course, I never did any of that. 'Cause I never had a Gameboy until I bought one off Ebay as an adult to play Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.

They did add battles and trading, but it took years. Also they decided to skip from Kalos to Galar for some reason, still waiting for the Alolan Pokémon.

What? That's lame. Gen 7 is honestly one of my favorites. My specific order changes all the time, but it's probably something like 3, 7, and 8 as my top picks.
