if you are going from old gen to new gen of the same console then no. if you are going from old gen PS to new gen xbox, then yes. cross save is not used for platform generation linking, it is for platform linking only. you cannot crosssave xbox to xbox, as an example.

Okay I think I get you. I’m still staying in the same family I’m upgrading my PS4 to a PS5. So that means that my add-ons(DLC) will stay in tact for both? Even though the old DLC is pretty much getting vaulted either way lol

whatever you own on PS4 will be playable on PS5. i believe there is a nextgen version of the game you will d/l that is specific for PS5. optimized for nextgen. but this is free so no worries. of course this also supposes that you don's change IDs. characters are bound to the specific ID. i dont know why people do it, but some when they get a new nextgen console also get a new ID. seems silly but to each their own.
