It’s not about matchmaking it’s about lobby balancing. If you don’t know the difference you have literally lost all ground in this argument. Matchmaking is putting those players out of the player pool in one lobby that are either close to your skill level or have a connection which should work with yours. Sometimes both but not in Destiny. Lobby balancing is a different beast entirely. Since we only have CBMM it pull 5-11 random players out of the pool and divides them into two teams. It has a special way of dividing them. Let me quote a YT whose done the math on this Let’s imagine you have a 4v4 match and the game pulls 8 people, including you, at random. The 8 people belong to different levels of skill, 1-10. 1 being a Player that never has played a Shooter before and 10 being top 500 in trials. One „10“ One „7“ Three „5“ One „4“ One „3“ And one „2“ Then the game tries to average the teams into to. The ten being the clear outlier here gets put into a team with a 5 the 3 and the 2. So it looks like this: 10;5;3;2. Now team 2 has the 7, two 5, and the 4. So it looks like this: 7;5;5;4. Do you see the problem there? The 10 and Team 2 get to frag out and the rest of team 1, the 2,3 and the one 5 get farmed to kingdom come or in case of the 5, teamshot. That is lobby balancing and it is very bad for the overall health of crucible because it drives people >5 out of itself. And it hurts the 10 too. Sure he gets to frag out and drop idk a 50 bomb or something but his team probably still looses because the others are all around a .4 the entirety of the match. You can’t tell me that sits right with you.
