You have lost your mind. If I had to the 90 runs to get it like a lot of other people I think you can do. Imagine feeling so -blam!- entitled you ask a company to make it easier for you. What makes you feel so -blam!- special? I mean seriously.

Just for the record, 90 runs at approximately 10 minutes per run, would take 15 hours of repeatedly doing nothing but the same activity over and over again. This estimate is being generous since a lot of people seem to go into the activity with suboptimal loadouts and/or don't know the mechanics, meaning a lot of runs end up taking more like 12 minutes. This also is not counting loading times in between each run. Realistically, with all things considered, you're talking about more like 20 hours straight of doing nothing but Dares in order to get the catalyst. And remember you can't take a break to do anything else in the game at all, or else lose your streak bonus, making it take even longer. So me thinking that this is a bit excessive is a bad take how, exactly? It's boring, mind numbing, the rewards for the activity are subpar with half of them being just world drops and not even 30th Anniversary drops, and it just flat out isn't fun. Bungie just made it so many runs required as a way to make people think there's still a lot to do in the game when in reality we are entering the 6th month of the same season, so we have nothing going on story-wise.

  • I don’t disagree with most of what you said. However, I put that time and effort in to get the catalyst and for some reason you want an easier path. If Bungie wants to put an easier path to obtain it in about a year I’d be okay with that b

  • I'd be okay with the amount it takes IF we had an entire year. However, while they said the activity would stay around for a year, they did not clarify whether or not the ranks would reset at the beginning of a new season. I believe they will reset just like Valor, Infamy, etc. In other words, while the activity will be around for a year, the grind for the catalyst has to be completed within one season or else see your progress get reset. So, yeah...it is too much with all things considered. Just because you spent that 20 hours or whatever it took you doesn't mean it is a reasonable amount for most. It isn't. Especially if there is other stuff to do in the game, which will be the case when Witch Queen and new seasonal content drop in about a month.

  • I don’t think it will reset. The reward track is essentially the catalyst. They won’t be adding additio-blam!- so why reset. But who knows.

  • Same can be said about other playlist activities that do reset. You can still get cores, prisms, upgrade modules, and a guaranteed exotic when resetting your Valor for the umpteenth time. The reward structure with Xur is setup almost the same way with regards to what you can grab from him as you rank up. In other words, all the parallels are there to indicate that it will indeed reset. Your argument that the catalyst is the main reward falls in line with the fact that the main reward from other playlist activities is the seasonal weapon and its accompanied ornaments, yet they reset each time and the rewards are replaced by a new weapon and ornaments. It stands to reason that Bungie could do the same thing with Dares. It would not be the first time they did away with the ability to acquire a catalyst. Ask some people out there about the Outbreak catalyst for example. If you didn't already have it when it was first obtainable, there is currently no way to obtain it as of right now. My point is, Bungie has a track record of screwing over the players when it comes to this stuff. I would not be so quick to assume this will be any different. I've come to expect, sadly, that there are strings attached to basically every reward in the game. Whether it is that you have a limited amount of time to get it, the grind to get it is insanely long and boring, or even that it could just be completely up to RNG (raid exotics), there's a string attached to it.

  • Yh dude you are right. Kids are way too entitled now a days. Others had to do it aswell. And if you want something you got to earn it or leave it be. 90 games are not that much tbh.

  • Hey, i'm ready to do the same thing over and over, that i do not enjoy, simply because i think that's a pinnacle of game design. And everyone should do it, too, because praise be to Bungie. That's what your post looks like. He didn't ask about reducing the difficulty, only for less repetitions. Those two are totaly different from each other.
