<I can 100% guarantee you that about half of the plots (be it seasonal or expansion) of post-D2Y2 content were not planned when the CoO prophecies were written. Nobody's gonna -blam!- believe me when I say that, but I'm being serious.>

  • Actually the major beats were planned out during base D2 being made. Remember the Traveler Vision cutscene at the end of the campaign? Showed the major beats (very flowery and vague but still) and the finale showdown. Back when they didn’t know what the Darkness was. They are just using the OG storylines major points, cut to fit, and using the seasons to string it together. Sort of like how that one D1 Darkness card about the different theories were all/most kind of panned out but not as singularly as the card states.

  • <I somehow doubt Shadowkeep was truly in the pipeline during D2's initial development and I don't think even Beyond Light was supposed to go the way it did. Hell, they fought over whether to use Europa or Enceladus before sticking with the former. Also we've yet to see the Dreadnaught return in anyway that cutscene suggested.>

  • What, you mean fully written out dlc by dlc? It was showing concepts of keynote events with vague imagery. Not an ad for the future pipeline of dlc. If you’re using the framework of a story that has a beginning and end, you know the general chain of events. You don’t know how you will get there to show keynote events like the segment when it shows humanity suffering. Obviously a major event is planned for the City. Was it the Vex blackening the skies or are we going to get an even worse Red War in the future? That’s what makes it a smart move. The vagueness in the imagery gives you tons of wiggle room. I mean the do the scene count and dlc count even match up? I haven’t watched it in a while. I know the shown dlc projected for the og was intense. There is certainly a lot of events of note scaling off of that.
