Looking Back and Looking Forward

I’m not a Destiny 1 veteran. I got into the franchise when Destiny 2 released because my friends loved the first game and wanted me to experience the series too. A few years ago, they bought me the Destiny Collection so I could still experience what it was like, and I’ve started going back to the first one more and more. While I’ve poured countless hours into Destiny 2, I’ve seen the game become more and more complicated over time, almost more-so it seems than the first one, and while I love some of the new editions to the story and game mechanics that Destiny 2 has introduced, Destiny 2 feels almost weaker compared to Destiny 1. I mostly play my warlock, and in D2 I’ve reached the Light Level cap, I’ve done almost all of the endgame content at least once, and yet my blueberry of a warlock in D1 kinda feels more stable and easier to use. I’m really excited for Witch Queen, but I don’t want Bungie to think that by making the game more complex, it’ll become better, because I don’t think that’s the case. I love getting to set up builds so maximize my character, but at the same time I feel so fragile having to rely on a specific set of mods in the right spots. I think what I’m trying to say is please stop pushing more and more into the mod system. Destiny is a power fantasy game, I shouldn’t feel “weak” when I don’t have a specific mod on. Mods should feel like a little bonus, not a necessity to enjoying the game to its full potential.

Holy wall of text batman! lol Over time I have seen Bungo slowly erode S tier perks on weapons and certain aspects of builds. The latest orb change coming is just another weakening aspect for instance. Has anyone also noticed that Rampage is slowly being eroded from the perk pools of some weapons? Or some other perks like explosive head from weapons that used to have it. Reissuing the perk pools of D1 weapons minus all the perks you want replaced by new WEAKER perks? To what end? Is this their way of balancing stuff? I don't know why they do what they do, but I'm addicted to the mechanics and gameplay and my clan. That's what keeps me coming back. Never the content.
