Do i think its not a good change? Yes
Will it ruin the game? F*ck no.
Will it be as bad as people are making it sound? Most likely not.

Right. Nerfs to damage buff ability stacking and debuff stacking hit harder. Sunsetting because of the weapons that were lost hit harder. And players have found ways in the sandbox to seemingly make both nerfs not matter all that much. So much so that Bungie still has to go around nerfing some mods and how they synergies pretty hard. It’s dumb but the game won’t collapse under the weight of this nerf. People won’t suddenly find GM Nighfalls unbeatable just because of this nerf. We all wont suddenly feel like super generation is so slow we never have one when it’s time for boss DPS.

This community takes any nerf to be an apocalyptic event in the game. I’m more pissed that if there really is a good reason for it, and not just “this was the only way to give all exotics orb generation” then Bungie still has dim people controlling the flow of information. It would have been better to hold off until the entirety of the changes could be disclosed. Because yeah, maybe it will be worth it. Then again, if Bungie’s community ma-blam!- are panicking over the reaction so we get some tweet about weapon memory, then again they’re still dim for not realize we’d see the nerf behind the guise of “good news everyone”. Just come right out and say it. “Hey we want to nerf charges with light. Y’all too strong and won’t stop using it.” Be honest.
