You are missing the point. Weapons generating orbs is used to get charge of light stacks. You do this with the mod "Taking charge". Taking orb generation off weapons makes that mod pretty much useless, unless you are working as a team and feeding off each others orbs from super kills/casts. But i guess everyone can just use "elemental charge" which is a better mod anyway. Well mods are crazy good. Be sure to get them if you dont have them. Weapons generating orbs has very little to do with super energy gain. There are plenty of other ways to get super energy.

 • There are other charge mods in the game

 • Well mods are not better. There's a reason they're hardly used in endgame content. You don't have the luxury to run around and collect wells in a GM when you're surrounded by adds that can one shot you easily.

 • Orbs have the same issue BTW since they drop where adds die too.

 • Nope. Orbs from masterworked weapons drop near you when you make a kill.Orbs from supers drop where the ads die. Also, unlike wells, orbs don't disappear, so you can still collect them after the fight

 •
Nope. Orbs from masterworked weapons drop near you when you make a kill.
Kill some enemies at range and see where the orb drops. I guarantee you its not near you.
Also, unlike wells, orbs don't disappear, so you can still collect them after the fight
Orbs from masterwork weapons disappear after about 45 seconds.

 • So I must be imagining my team mates dropping orbs from their kills for me whilst doing the roof cheese in this week's nightfall then? I'm not sure about your own orbs, but team mate's kills from masterworked weapons definitely drop right next to them.

 • Maybe they behave differently when in a cheese spot, idk. All I can tell you is under normal circumstances they drop where the enemy dies and despawn in about 45 seconds.

 • Orbs aren't the only way to become charged. It's one less way but they could just introduce OTHER ways.
